My husband and I own 4 cats and a dog which is a Japanese akita breed named Kain. Kain is not a “people friendly” dog, although he adores other dogs it takes him a while to adjust to a new environment and new people. Finding kennels where he would enjoy himself and especially where he would get on with the handlers was very difficult. After finding out about the Elmtree pet hotel we went and visited the premises. The place looked immaculate, was spotlessly clean, the staff were all very friendly and the dogs we saw looked happy and well looked after. One of the handlers, Mandy showed us around, we explained our situation with Kain and how he doesn’t get on with people, and she suggested that we will bring Kain to Elmtree over the weekends so she can spend some time with him. She also offered to accompany us whenever we took Kain out for “walkies” in Forty Hill, all in her own time, she bravely walked with us even though Kain was not fond of her and continually growled at her. After few weeks, Kain eventually let Mandy take charge of his lead and allowed her to walk him. Now, apart from close family Mandy is the only person who can handle Kain and look after him with the greatest of care. Kain absolutely adores her and they have built a special bond, this is all because Mandy’s determination and patience. The Elmtree pet hotel will always be the only place we take our pets to and we are more than happy to recommend the kennels to anyone.
