This month

sees drawing being celebrated nationwide as part of the annual Big Draw. Run by

the Campaign for Drawing, who are based in Enfield's Gentleman's Row, this annual initiative was

launched in 2000 and has now grown from 180 events in the UK to over 1,500

worldwide.

The Campaign

aims to use drawing to connect visitors with museum and gallery collections,

urban and rural spaces – and the wider community – in new and enjoyable ways.

This week

there are two events in Enfield as part of the Big Draw. At Springview Retirement

Home on Crescent Road the staff and residents, as well as visitors, are invited

to collaborate in the recreation of the famous "La Loge" by Renoir

(Mon–Fri 10am–4pm). The canvashas already been sketched and gridded and each participant

will paint a rectangle in acrylic, which together will form a complete copy of

this famous work.

At My Coffee

Stop on platform one at Enfield Chase station everyone is welcome – even if

they’re not catching a train – to draw something for the walls (Mon–Fri

6am–2pm) so spend that time waiting for your train rediscovering a skill you’d

probably forgotten about – or simply encourage the kids to have a go.

If you can’t

make either of these events why not join in online instead? Click here

to take part in a fold and draw game you’re sure to remember from your

childhood.

It's been fantastic so far, we're getting an ecclectic display of fold and draw games on our walls. Please do come and join in, you don;t have to be a commuter, it's one of those things we do, just for fun!
