Can anyone help me with this borough's best kept secret please? What is the date of Edmonton Carnival. I know that the last thing anyone wants is to have people attend and join in but other areas manage to persuade their local newspapers to publicise the building of floats, people making costumes, even getting businesses to have a stall at the destination park.
Perhaps this year instead of keeping it secret the organisers could SHOUT about it, starting with asking local shops to put a notice in their windows. I appreciate that publicity can be expensive but asking a shop to handwrite the name of the event and date shouldn't be prohibitive.
I would like to point out that in the first paragraph I was being sarcastic!

Its refreshing that someone has taken the trouble to mention this so here goes.
Date of the Edmonton Carnival is Saturday 23rd July. It leaves Millfield Theatre at 10.30 and travels along Silver Street/Sterling Way, onto Victoria Road then Park Road under the bridge and onto the high street. It then makes its way past Edmonton Green and onto Jubilee Park entering via Houndsfield Road. It should arrive in the park around 12 midday. The park event is open from 10.30 am with bands, activities and stalls (thats the plan anyway).
As far as Im aware there are a number of community groups and schools taking part in the carnival. I understand that an Enfield Festival Brochure has been distributed and should be available in libraries and community centres detailing all of the events and activities taking place from May to September.
