Enfield Council has failed to remove flytipped rubbish including

Rubbish can get out of hand if not collected regularly
an old mattress from Soham Open Space in Enfield Lock, despite being
alerted to the problem in November 2010. The council also seems to have
quietly removed its flytipping removal targets from the council website,
raising concerns about just how long the council will now leave rubbish
before collecting it.
Local Liberal Democrat
spokesperson, Paul D. Smith commented: “I reported the mattress,
complete with photographs and a map showing the location last
year. Short of driving the van there myself, I couldn't have been more
helpful and yet the mattress was still there this weekend. Worse still,
Soham Open Space is now in a terrible state with every tuft of grass and
hedge full of litter.
“The most frustrating
aspect of this is comparing Soham Open Space to, say, Bush Hill Park.
Both are large open areas with football pitches but whilst Bush Hill
Park is clean and well tended, Soham Open Space appears totally
neglected.
“Residents can help by
reporting any flytipping they observe promptly, but we must then hold
the council to account and ensure they remove this rubbish quickly and
effectively,” he concluded.
