For the next two weeks a special 'health bus' will be coming to a range of locations in Enfield to give FREE health checks to everyone who lives in Enfield aged between 40 and 74.
The bus, sponsored by Enfield Council, the NHS and Pfizer will be offering a range of FREE health checks including blood pressure, diabetes, weight / height and general medical advice. The aim of the programme is to find undiagnosed disease and treat it earlier.
Cllr Christine Hamilton, Cabinet Member for Public Health said "If you are in the area why not make use of the health bus? No appointment is necessary and it is a great way to find out quickly whether you have blood pressure problems, suffer from diabetes or other health issues that can be hard to detect in their early stages."
Dr Shahed Ahmad, Joint Director of Public Health said "Our Annual Public Health Report showed that heart disease and stroke is our biggest killer, and we should be doing everything we can to tackle this."
